Michael J. O'Connell

Age 78, of Bolingbrook, IL died peacefully at home, Thursday February 28, 2019.  He was born December 26, 1940 to the late Catherine (nee Lynch) and Geoffrey O'Connell in Cambridge, Mass.  He was a United States Marine Corps Veteran and a retired Vice President for TJ Maxx.

Beloved husband of 49 years to Elizabeth "Bitsy" O'Connell; loving father of James (Margaret "Peggy"), Michael E. (Jodi), John G., Timothy J. (Amanda), Patrick J. O'Connell and Kathleen (Alan) Schwab; proud grandfather of Malachy and Molly; Michael R., Ryan, Jack and Joseph; Brittany; Casey, Mallory, Matthew and Julia; dear brother of Kathleen (late Albert) Abraham and Brenda O'Connell. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitation for Mike O'Connell will be Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black at Essington Roads, Joliet.  Funeral services will be held Monday, March 4, 2019 at 9:15 a.m.  from the funeral home to St. Dominic Roman Catholic Church, 440 E. Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.  Interment will follow in Risen Lord Cemetery, Oswego, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials in Mike's name can be made to Joliet Catholic Academy.   For more information, please call (815) 741-5500 or visit his Memorial Tribute at www.fredcdames.com
