I wanted to try something new as a senior at Minooka. So I decided to try woodworking. When I saw Mr. Underhill as my teacher, I remembered how nice he was to me when I was a sophomore and when he was a hall monitor. He instilled hard work upon everyone in the classroom and workshop. He taught all of us to work hard and that we’ll be impressed with what we can accomplish. He was always encouraging the students and I to believe in ourselves because we all have unique skillsets and we should use them. Thank you Mr. Underhill getting me to believe in myself to accomplish tasks that I wouldn’t have thought possible for before. Your son had an amazing father that has altered many lives in the community in a positive way. Rest in peace and the Underhill family is in my prayers.
I will miss Chris, I first met him when he was a freshman at MCHS, on my basketball team. He was always proud to be an Indian! Our school & community is better because of his dedication to the MCHS family.
He will be missed tremendously.
We first met Coach Underhill through summer golf lessons at the park district when my girls were very young. Through the years he inspired them to become better golfers. This year we had the pleasure to have him as Katelyn’s high school coach. Coach Underhill’s ability to coach was like no other. He saw the potential in his players and knew how to make them excel as individuals. Heritage Bluff will not be the same without his presence. Our prayers go out to his family.

I remeber you from Junior High.. You where an amazing teacher, and you went out of your way to help me on numerous occasions. Thank you for everything. I'll never forget you.
My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to Brandy, Brooks, and the Underhill Family. I will greatly miss seeing Chris at work. He lit up a room with his smile and had a great sense of humor. He always offered help to anyone who needed it. I pray that Brandy and Brooks know how much they meant to him- he loved to show me pictures of his family. He absolutely beamed with pride when he talked about Brooks. He will be sorely missed by the MCHS community and never forgotten.
What a wonderful man and teacher. He will always hold a special place in our hearts. He has taken very good care of our daughter and her service dog since she was a freshman. She is now a Junior. Her service dog will miss popping her head into woodworking class to see him on their way to floral class. "Partners in Crime" is what he affectionately called my daughter and her SD. Thank you for taking my daughter under your wing and always being a great support person for her. Sending healing angels to Brandy and Brooks and all of your family and friends. You will be extremely missed.
I loved Mr. Underhill he was my favorite person out of that whole school. He never failed to put a smile on my face saying out of class again. To his family he is in my family prayers
My heart weighs heavy about the loss of a wonderful human being. Chris was always smiling and helping anyone who needed anything which I always admired about him and always will. My condolences to his family and anyone whos heart was touched by Chris. You will be missed but never forgotten. Joanne A. Nasra
Chris will live on in my memory as the one who always smiled. He always seemed to live life to the fullest and make the most of any situation. Fun followed Chris and made it a joy to be around him. He cared passionately about doing right by others and will be remembered for how much he cared. Chris was my coworker at CJHS, but more than that he was my friend. Prayers for peace to those left hurting.
My heart goes out to Chris’ wife and their sweet little son, and all of his family. Chris sure will be missed at MCHS... I will remember he always had a smile and kind words in the hallway. And he beamed with joy over his family and he sure loved showing his son off in pictures. The love he had for his family showed for all to see which was so awesome.
Deepest condolences to the Underhill family. Peace to you all through this great loss. Chris was a special part of MCHS and supported so many of us in so many ways. He will be greatly missed.
