I wanted to try something new as a senior at Minooka. So I decided to try woodworking. When I saw Mr. Underhill as my teacher, I remembered how nice he was to me when I was a sophomore and when he was a hall monitor. He instilled hard work upon everyone in the classroom and workshop. He taught all of us to work hard and that we’ll be impressed with what we can accomplish. He was always encouraging the students and I to believe in ourselves because we all have unique skillsets and we should use them. Thank you Mr. Underhill getting me to believe in myself to accomplish tasks that I wouldn’t have thought possible for before. Your son had an amazing father that has altered many lives in the community in a positive way. Rest in peace and the Underhill family is in my prayers.

Brandi , Brooks, Pam, John, and families, Chris was such a great man. Every time we saw each other he would compliment me while taking a dig at himself. That was his priceless sense of humor. He was by far the biggest influence on my daughters life as an athlete as well. He would pick her up for golf camp when she was is grade school. He was able to motivate her with his quick wit when she was on the golf team in high school. He always made her feel at home. No matter when or where she saw him, she would always send me the message " I just saw Underhill". He will never ever be forgotten as a father , husband, son, brother, friend or coach.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.

We first met Coach Underhill through summer golf lessons at the park district when my girls were very young. Through the years he inspired them to become better golfers. This year we had the pleasure to have him as Katelyn’s high school coach. Coach Underhill’s ability to coach was like no other. He saw the potential in his players and knew how to make them excel as individuals. Heritage Bluff will not be the same without his presence. Our prayers go out to his family.

My deepest sympathies and prayers go out to Brandy, Brooks, and the Underhill Family. I will greatly miss seeing Chris at work. He lit up a room with his smile and had a great sense of humor. He always offered help to anyone who needed it. I pray that Brandy and Brooks know how much they meant to him- he loved to show me pictures of his family. He absolutely beamed with pride when he talked about Brooks. He will be sorely missed by the MCHS community and never forgotten.

Dear Brandy, Brooks and the Underhill family,
I was truly saddened to hear of Chris's passing. From the first time I met Chris he always had a smile on his face. I wanted you to know what a great friend he was to my husband Carl. You don't see many 63 year old men with a 39 year old golfing buddy, but they were very close, and always had such good times together whether it be golfing, Hawks game or razzing each other about the Cubs/Sox rivalry! The loss of Chris will leave a BIG void in my husband's life, even though we don't live in Channahon any more. We were looking forward to you all visiting us in Arizona soon, and Brandy we want you to know that you are welcome to visit any time. Mr. and Mrs. Underhill.....know that you raised a fine young man, always polite and ready to help when needed.
Chris.......RIP.....you will be missed by the Ullian family.

To the Underhill family ...
It is with sadness and sorrow that we heard about the passing of Chris. Chris and our son, David Caamano, who passed away on September 17, 2010 with a massive heart attack were close friends. We treasure the moments that Chris and Dave shared while at Minooka High School and we will always remember the fun times Chris and Dave enjoyed together. Both of them loved golf and were very competitive at MHS as well as loving baseball ... Dave was a Chicago Cubs fan and we remember when Chris and Dave would share stories of their baseball teams. Always in our hearts ...
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this time of sorrow.
Love and Hugs,
Jerry and Kathy Caamano

I send my prayers to the Underhill Family. I first met Chris in 2008. Each time we met, Chris would first talk about his family. Chris was a Family man and a friend to all he would meet. So many students gained valuable life learning from Chris. May the Underhill Family find comfort and support in the days ahead.

What a wonderful man and teacher. He will always hold a special place in our hearts. He has taken very good care of our daughter and her service dog since she was a freshman. She is now a Junior. Her service dog will miss popping her head into woodworking class to see him on their way to floral class. "Partners in Crime" is what he affectionately called my daughter and her SD. Thank you for taking my daughter under your wing and always being a great support person for her. Sending healing angels to Brandy and Brooks and all of your family and friends. You will be extremely missed.
