For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
2 Timothy 4:6 – 7
To the Beloved Family of Elder Lena Simpson:
The Church of God of Fort Worth TX, extends our deepest and sincere condolences unto you in the passing of our dear sister in Christ “Mother Simpson”. When we heard of her transition; the thought in our minds was “Another Soldier Has Made It Over”. Yes, the human part was saddened, but the SPIRITUAL side was happy for her Eternal Reward. She definitely fought a good fight; then she finished her course. So family, we encourage you to cast your every burden upon the Lord; for he has promised to sustain during trying times such as these. Mother Simpson is happy, and she is now resting in the arms of her dear Savior.
Mother Simpson was one that was always lending a helping hand. If you needed her assistance in any way; she was there to help. Whatever the task; she was ready to tackle it. When she was down in her body; she was still fighting to make it in. She wanted to be the example that God designed for her, and as we all know; she was just that (an example in all areas). We thank God for her life. She’s our Earthly lost, but a Heaven’s gain.
May we all strive to feast from the legacy that Mother Simpson left behind. She definitely exemplified a Godly life with a sweet spirit and helpful heart. May you gain Strength and Comfort as you thrive over the many memories that you hold close at heart.
Unfortunately, we are unable to accompany you on today, but rest assured; we are holding you close in Prayers and Thoughts. If we can be of any assistance unto you; please don’t hesitate to call upon us.
May God Bless and Strengthen You
Humbly Submitted with Much Love & Prayers

To the Simpson Family,
On behalf of everyone at the Church of God in Joliet, IL, we would like to express our sincerest condolences for the loss of Elder Lena Simpson. Sis. Simpson was a loving mother, grandmother, friend, and a beautiful Saint of God. She was a minister of the gospel, and devoted herself to God and his people. She labored with the sick, carried saints’ burdens to God in prayer, and encouraged us to lean on God. Sis. Simpson touched so many lives; she mentored and inspired others to serve God.
For many years, Sis. Simpson was faithful in the choir, a part of the Vacation Bible School ministry, and a Sunday School teacher. In the church services, you could often hear her saying “Glory, Glory, Glory!” She never hesitated to share her testimony and always gave thanks to God for his keeping grace.
Sis. Simpson was a great example of a woman of God. We will remember her by the life she lived; one that exemplified Christ not only in words, but deeds. We want to say “Thank you, Sis. Simpson, for giving to the Lord!” God held Sis. Simpson close, until he called her home. Sis. Simpson fought a good fight; remaining steadfast, unshakeable, unmovable. II Timothy 4:7 states” I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
To her family, her children, and grandchildren, may there be comfort in knowing that someone so special, can never be forgotten. In the midst of your sorrow, we encourage you to reflect on all the joyful memories shared. May her legacy live on, and a reflection of her be seen in your actions and deeds.
In this time of great sorrow, please know that you are in our thoughts and our prayers. If there is anything you need during this difficult time, please do not hesitate to reach out to us for support. We are here for you. May God comfort all hearts. Matthew 5:4: “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”
Sincerely,The Church of God of Joliet

To the Family of Elder Simpson -
Thank you so much for lending your mother to the lord! She was a great blessing to me since the time I was a child in Drexel, and I always remembered her teaching bible class and thinking with awe that it was amazing that someone with such a slow and gentle approach could inspire me so much, and her lessons would have me thinking/praying for days, just wanting be holy like that. I remember thinking in one particular instance when she gave her testimony about not struggling in the flesh along a particular line (that I was stuggling), I was so inspired by her and I thought to myself, "on day, Im going to be like her, and this wont bother me anymore!" That day came, years ago. Im so glad to have met her, knew her, and learned from her life. Love you all, and am praying that God mightily comfort you as only he can. She is right where she wants to be, where she was living to be, but we will miss her, and that's ok. May God carry you in his arms throughout this time.
With love,
Sis Marilyn

What a legacy of consistency and commitment to God and family Mother Simpson had. No doubt she is probably still on her tour of paradise. I'm sure after her tour is complete she will then turn around and start pulling for the rest of us to join her. Thank God for putting me back on that road to paradise.
May God bless you and keep you in comfort and peace.

Thank you Sis Simpson for giving to the Lord, and for giving to all of us. You were instrumental in bringing so many of us to Christ and I am so grateful that you are receiving a well-deserved reward!. I have known you for most of my life and I’m forever grateful for the firm but loving guidance that you gave me, whether I wanted it or not. It was you on March 15, 1981, who prayed for me the day that I surrendered my life to God. I will never forget that. Over these years you have been a mother, a teacher, a counselor, a friend, and sometimes a disciplinarian. You gave all and in doing so, you have forever left an imprint on my life.
Thank you for giving to the Lord. You made it Sis Simpson. What a happy day it is in paradise.
To my old, dear friends Karen, Darren, Andre, and Anthony. I love you all and pray that the grace of God consoles and covers you in the days ahead. Your mom was a treasure. Thank you for sharing her with us. ♥️

I have very positive memories of Elder Lena Simpson. Her life is a reminder of the good old days and what it use to be like. Her kindness, tender love and care and the sweet fellowship we shared. She was a mentor to me in the early stages of my salvation. I'll never forget what she once shared with me regarding one of her experiences. Apparently, she was home ill from Sunday service (46 Drexel) and had received a call from one of the saints checking in on her and asked if she needed prayer. Initially she declined, but stated, you better go ahead and pray for me, It may be some pride there. Rest in peace my good sister. I'll meet you in the sweet bye and bye!

To the Family of Elder Lena Simpson,
We are touched by your loss. Ma Simpson touched so many lives, especially the young people of the 1970's. Her love for them and her love for God left an imprint on their hearts. Sis Simpson would often quote 1 Peter 1:13, “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” She has reached her end and leaves behind many fond memories.
Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Family, we are praying for you. God is a promise keeper. He will cover and keep you during this time.
Prayerfully submitted,
The Church of God of Kalamazoo
