I'm not a BINGO player, but when my husband and I were new residents at the Timbers, I wandered into the area where Joni had set up the game. She engaged me in conversation, and gave me the chance to share about my son whose untimely death weighed heavily on my mind.
Joni is remembered at Timbers for bringing fun to every activity and for her dedication. I remember her for the way she drew me out, offering empathy and hope.HT

I am so very sorry for your loss. Joni was such a sweet, caring and fun lady. I always looked forward to seeing her when I visited my Mom, Fran Podobnik, at The Timbers. Joni was a dedicated volunteer and I am thankful for her service. Saturday night Bingo will not be the same without Joni.

Joni was a wonderful, kind, hard working, fun, loving, and respectful person. Our family got the pleasure of knowing her when she lived in Tinley park and Trisha was a part of our scout troop and school class. Joni was always willing to help and did so with a smile. She taught us all a lot about doing your best in life. We are so sorry she is gone. All our love and thoughts to her family.
We have so many fun memories of her, especially on our girl scout campouts and field trips! One time, when we went to the haunted farm at Halloween, we all got so muddy, and Joni's shoes were just glops of mud! She just kept going and having fun with it. That is what she brought to everything....an appreciation for the simple and fun moments and that was contagious!

My deepest sympathies to Tom and the entire family. My heart is very heavy after hearing this news. I met her when my mother Lois moved into Shorewood Horizon. She was a good friend to my mom and me, and was always there to lend a helping hand when my mom needed it most. She remained a good friend after my mother passed and kept in touch even after we moved out of state. I enjoyed my last conversation with her two weeks ago, like the many others which always included telling each other about our grandchildren . She was so excited about the new baby due in July. I loved the picture you posted--that's the Joni with that smile I'll always remember. Rest in peace my dear friend.
Love, Donna

Joni was such a caring and wonderful person. First met her when the family was living in Tinley Park, in the Brementown development.. Seen her frequently at the Tinley Recreation Center where she watched the children of parents who were at the gym.
Always so proud of her son and daughter sharing their accomplishments at teaching and banking. Seen her frequently at Baker’s Square having lunch. In spite of hard times and her battle with cancer she always had a smile and upbeat. Never spoke an unkind word. She will be missed by many

I am shocked and grieved upon hearing of Joni's passing. We first met as members of Messiah Lutheran Church, but we were also fellow White Sox fans and SoxFest attendees. She loved to razz my husband Darryl about being a Cub fan and telling him he should start rooting for the better team.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her family at this difficult time.
