Obituary of Michael J. Condon
Michael J. Condon
Age 64, of Plainfield, IL died at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at home after fiercely battling lung cancer.
He was born on New Year’s Eve, 1955 to Norma (nee Steinke) and Patrick Condon he was the third of eight children; a proud graduate of St. Jude School, Joliet Catholic High School (’74), and Palmer College of Chiropractic (D.C. ’81). He married his soul mate, Deb Williams, on April 11, 1986, and had three children; Kyle, Kaitlin, and Lindsay.
Mike was a compassionate healer as a chiropractor for thirty-six years, but his greatest joy was building a family and rich life with Deb. Their most treasured times were traveling cross country to watch their children compete in soccer, volleyball, basketball, and hockey games. Mike and Deb were also avid bicyclists.
Mike was a gifted athlete but he never moved faster than when placed in the limelight where he swiftly shifted the focus to others. His humility, patience, gentle demeanor, endless optimism, and delightful sense of humor were apparent to everyone he met.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Norma Condon (2013) and Patrick Condon (2016).
He is survived by his wife Deb Condon of Plainfield, and their children, Kyle (Alexis) Condon of Davenport, IA, Kaitlin of Plainfield and Lindsay of Chicago; Seven siblings, Brian (Jody) Condon, Peggy A. Condon, Jane Condon, Caryn L. Condon, all of Joliet, Kay Green of Batavia, IL, John (Laurie) Condon of Palm Desert, CA, and Cathy (Rob) Houston of Lake Zurich, IL; in-laws, Shirley and Jack Williams, sisters-in-law, Pamela Rhoades, Amy (Jared) Robinson all of North Manchester, IN; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to so many friends and family for countless prayers and support; including Mike’s JCHS (’74) classmates.
