Obituary of Neil Bryon Fowler
Neil Fowler
Age 55, of Plainfield, passed away unexpectedly Friday, January 1, 2021, at his late residence. He was born February 26, 1965, in Elmhurst, IL, the son of the late John and Loretta Fowler. Neil was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was a hard-working concrete perfectionist. Neil wore his heart on his sleeve, his passion was sports and he loved coaching, mentoring many kids in basketball, soccer, and football. He was an amazing dance dad and took great pride in decorating for the holidays, especially Halloween and Christmas. Neil loved his campground and was an avid fisherman. He was a very loving, supportive, and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Surviving is his loving wife, Susan (Totulis) Fowler; his children, Dustin Fowler, Tara York, Travis (Haley) Fowler and Heather Fowler; 11 grandchildren; siblings, Pam (Jim) Jatczak, Les (Ron) Bartels and Phil (Laura) Fowler; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents and his brother, John “Jack” Fowler.
Visitation for Neil Fowler will be Monday, January 11, 2021, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.), Joliet from 3-7 p.m. In accordance with the Illinois guidelines, a 10 person capacity will be followed. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed. Funeral services will be held privately by the family at 7:15 p.m., however, the family has requested to live stream the services of their loved one. Interment will be held privately at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to his grandchildren that have been in his care would be greatly appreciated.
