Obituary of Tellis C. Burns Jr.

Age 58 of Shorewood, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center.  He was born in Chicago, the son of the late Tellis “T.C.” and Beautine (Baker) Burns.  He resided in Shorewood the past 18 years and was formerly a resident of Plainfield and Bolingbrook.  Tellis graduated from Bolingbrook High School with the class of 1980.  He received his Bachelor’s degree from Lewis University in 1985, and also attended Western Illinois University.  He was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and has been a part of his brotherhood ever since 1984.

Tellis was an avid golfer.  He enjoyed attending his daughter's sporting events.  Socially Tellis could carry on a good conversation on numerous topics.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Pamela (Johnson) Burns of Shorewood; and two daughters, Raven Burns of Shorewood and Marissa Burns of Bradenton, FL.

Tellis is preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial gathering for Tellis C Burns Jr. will be held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd, Joliet, on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
