Obituary of Jeannette Helen MacNichol
Jeannette Helen MacNichol, age 56, of Channahon, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, March 3, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Born November 12, 1964 in Boise, ID, she was raised in Channahon, and was a graduate of Minooka Community High School, Class of 1982. Jeannette worked for Pioneer Path Grade School in Channahon for 22 years as a bookkeeper. She was also a member of the River of Life Church, where she taught Sunday School for 20 years.
Jeannette was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother-to-be, daughter, sister and aunt who put the needs of others always before her own. She was a kind and beautiful person inside and out, and was a friend to all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Al and Dorothy Anderson, Fred Kern, and Jane Phellps; and her father-in-law, Bernie MacNichol.
Surviving is her beloved husband of 38 years, Michael B. MacNichol of Channahon, who was her high school sweetheart and who she married July 16, 1983. Also surviving are her devoted sons, James (Brittany) MacNichol of Orland Park, and Travis MacNichol of Channahon; her loving parents, James and Doris Anderson of Channahon; two dear sisters, Sherrie (Denny) Granger of Morris, and Kathy Anderson of Channahon; her mother-in-law, Connie MacNichol; her husband’s sisters, Dana (Mike) Wood and Karla (Scott) McKanna; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jeannette was also delighted and excited to be welcoming her first grandchild in April.
Our precious Jeannette, you are “home” and wrapped in the arms of our beloved Father. Rest in peace our sweet angel. We will see you again.
Visitation for Jeannette MacNichol will be held Monday, March 8, 2021 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, (at Essington Road), Joliet. Face masks and social distancing will be required. Due to limitations on attendance, funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to River of Life Lutheran Church would be appreciated.
