Sending prayers, condolences and sympathy to the family. Just wondering? I hired and supervised a Spanish teacher during the early to mid 1970's for the Oakview Junior High School in New Lenox. He did a great job in the classroom with the students for the exploratory class of Spanish. The entire staff respected "Bernie" and enjoyed his time with us as a colleague. Even though it is reported in the obituary Bernard taught at Oak Lawn, I wonder if that is a typing error and should have been Oakview Junior High?
May his memory always be a blessing.
Dr. Robert K Jenkins, Retired
Former Principal of Oakview Junior High and
Assistant Superintendent of District 122 1968-1995

Heart felt condolences to the whole family. Bernie and I grew up on the Eastside and later taught together at Oakview Jr. H.S. in New Lenox. We had some great times teaching and after school. Lots of Friday evening drinks and food venues. He helped me move into my home in New Lenox.
Didn't see much of him after he left education but would visit occasionally at his shop in Joliet. Good memories of a great guy! Rest In Peace old friend. Dr. Edward A. Tatro Family
