Obituary of Ronald C. Stuart

Ronald C. Stuart, age 71, of Channahon, passed away Saturday, June 26, 2021 at Amita Health St. Joseph Medical Center Joliet, with his family by his side.

Born September 1, 1949 in Great Lakes, IL, he was the son of Corlous D. and Helen (Piwowarski) Stuart.  He attended St. Camilla Grade School and was a graduate of St. Lawrence High School.  Ron continued his education at Northern Illinois University, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Education, and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from St. Xavier University.

Ron taught for several years at Minooka High School before joining the faculty of Fenwick High School, Oak Park, where he founded the Fishing and Photography Clubs.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting, gardening, photography, biking, and playing golf, but his passion in life was spending time and playing with his three adoring grandchildren.  Ron also had a lifelong fascination with trains and airplanes.  He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, the Coal City Area Club, and a former member of the Channahon Lions Club.

He will be remembered for his positive attitude, supportive advice, kind words, distinctive laugh, warm smile and sense of humor.  Breakfast with his friends will not be the same without him, and his friends and coworkers will miss him keeping in touch.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 43 years, Loretta “Laurie” (Sallese) Stuart of Channahon; two sons, Kevin (Amelia) Stuart of Channahon and Richard (Amanda) Stuart of Toronto, Canada; three grandchildren, Natalie, Ryan, and Molly Stuart; many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Richard D. Stuart.
