I'm also Lincoln-Way class of '77 and grew up on S. Cooper with Doug. There were many times we'd sit together on the school bus and hung out in the 'hood. I haven't seen him in forever, but immediately recognized him from the picture that was posted with the news of his passing. He was one of the childhood friends you just don't forget. A short story .... one day on the school bus, we must have been like 7 or 8 yrs old, he hands me this tiny, 6-page booklet as a gift. I can't really explain why, but I've managed to keep that little booklet through more moves than I can count and still have it today, more than half a century later. I'm looking at it as I write this. Can't help but think Doug would have gotten a kick out of that :-) Thanks for the great memories, Doug. Rest In Peace, my friend.

A grounded and strong tree that generously gives shade, shelter and oxygen seems like a perfect tribute to Mr. Doug. Rest well and thank you. Join in honoring their life - plant a memorial tree

the best times at Oakview, Doug & Frankie. I loved Doug very much he was my brother and friend. We had many classes together. After Science class we had to stop by his locker so he could get his books for the rest of the day. Doug and I talked about cars, he loved my brother in laws Trans Am. I remember the day my brother in law dropped me off at School, Doug was in English class and seen me get out of the car. I got to class, Doug “who’s car is that?” I was told that Doug was in the hospital, this was years ago, I showed up. He had a big smiled and lit up. Doug said how did you find out? I got the biggest hug that day. Doug gave the best hugs and he had the biggest shoulders to lean on. Doug was the kind of person that leaves the biggest impact on your life, the forever friend, brother, best buddy. My heart is truly broken, he took a piece to heaven with him. With love and prayers to you and yours , Miki
