Randy is the reason why I joined Vanguard in 2001, as he told me of the need for a credit analyst, effected an introduction and provided helpful guidance throughout the process. He continued to be an advisor, and friend, during our time together. His deep knowledge of his sectors, especially tech and telecom, was truly impressive and provided substantial benefits to the Fixed Income Group and investors. Personally, I always looked forward to his stories following his trips to Cannes and other film festivals, and sharing opinions and suggestions for new films. In addition, he was a great source of advice for all things technical. Randy was one of the true Rennaissance people.
