I got to know Jimmy while working in New Lenox. I would run into him almost nightly while getting coffee at the white hen pantry. I swear every time he got out of the car and walked in I saw a new bandage on his arms from his crazy police canine. Jimmy said the dog was nuts and bit him again. He would laugh and call the dog a few names.
One of the nicest men I’ve ever met.

Worked with Deputy Rouse for many years at Laraway, hearing his voice in my ears as I typed his reports. Always such a kind, polite and jovial man. I can still hear his laugh. Rest peacefully!!

What can I say? So many thoughts but how do you put it on paper? I will miss his big grin and hearty hugs when we would meet, but I know y'all will miss him more. I was totally shocked when Connie told me she saw it on FB. James was a man of principle and strong belief, and a good friend. Our prayers are with you Sheilla, and family. Love, Ron Harris

Thank you SFC Rouse for your dedicated service to our nation in the US Army along with your three tours 'in-country' in Vietnam.
Your continued service in law enforcement again is evidence of your unselfish sacrifice and dedication.
Rest in Peace now, fine sir, your work here is done.
May the good Lord now invite you into His kingdom for your ultimate and deserved, "Welcome Home."

My uncle James had no Krytonite. He was unstoppable with no measure. I am happy to have a multitude of memories with him. Fishing, traveling, weight training, and so many other amazing times were spent together. If he told me he was the real Apollo holding up the earth I would believe it. If someone told me he took Apollos place when he passed I would believe it. He was our superman in the flesh. Missed and love by us all! See you in Heaven Uncle James. Save a spot for me at your fish fry up there.

A Gesture in memory of Jim, my friend and my brother in Christ. I believe this was his favorite Psalm.
Psalm 91
My Refuge and My Fortress
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
3 For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge
10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
