Obituary of Susan Mary Brickell
Susan Mary Brickell, aged 64, of Houston, TX, passed away peacefully on the morning of February 5, 2022, with her family by her side.
She was born on November 3, 1957, in Joliet, IL to Bill and Rosemary Norton. A 1975 graduate of Morris Community High School, she continued on to Rosary College in River Forest, IL, where she studied Communications and History. She met her husband Andy in 1980 while participating in a study abroad program at the University of Oxford, and they were married on June 1, 1985. The couple lived in Aberdeen, Scotland, and Bergen, Norway before settling in London to raise a family.
In 1999, the family moved to Houston, TX, where Susan lived until she passed due to complications from a 35-year course of multiple sclerosis.
Susan enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, preferably accompanied by good food, good music, and good wine. She had an uncommon ability to relate to people and was always roaming the room looking for a new and interesting friend to talk to. The world without her is less bright, less lively, and lacking in colorful, witty commentary. She is deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to be loved by her.
She is survived by her husband Andy, children James and MC, her mother, Rosemary, and her three sisters, Trish, Sally, and Nancy. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill.
Visitation for Susan Mary Brickell will be Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 516 E. Jackson St., Morris from 10:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
