Mike was my Godfather. We so lovingly referred to him as "Godfather Mike." I distinctly remember him giving my boyfriends a hard time, and telling them, "you had better be good to me because my Godfather Mike will come after you if you aren't!" It got a chuckle from the family, but my boyfriends were always a little worried that he may have had "connections!" Mike was such a great guy, and he was the best Godfather anyone could ask for. I am so glad that I could know him for so long. My condolences to Lee and the family. He will truly be missed. May you remember the good times, the laughter, and all the fun memories when you are feeling down. "Sometimes you don't know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory." -Dr. Seuss.
With love,
Danielle (Smoljo) Pagoria

Mike was such a joy to know and work with. He was a great lawyer and a wonderful person. He was such an asset to our legal community (both local and state) and he will be greatly missed. There was never a time that he was not willing to help people and everyone loved him. What a terrible loss. My heart breaks for his family and my thoughts and prayers go out to them.

Much too young to have departed this life however, I’m sure Mike is being welcomed in heaven. Mike and I were classmates at JCHS (class of ‘73). Although we didn’t run in the same circles, we got to know each other better while working at Osco Drug on Jackson Street in Joliet. We had some good times and a lotta laughs. I will remember Mike in my thoughts and prayers. Condolences to the Wojtak family.

Mike was a gentleman and knew the law very well. He always tried to do good. He was active in probate matters of the Will County Bar Association for many years, and we held him in the highest regard. His presence will be missed. My sympathy to all who knew him, especially his family. We shared clients, we shared files, and we shared ideas. His death came much too soon and reminds once again never to take anything for granted.

Mike has been an enduring friend and professional colleague to me and the Easterseals organization. Following his volunteer service on our Board of Directors, Mike became the Corporate Agent of Record and legal consultant. Through the years, he facilitated a number of projects that expanded Easterseals capacity to serve children and adults with disabilities, those with special needs and their families. We are incredibly grateful for his time with us.
Our sincere condolences to Lee and family.

Mike's loss is big. I echo what's been said already about how he was always warm and cheerful no matter how much time had passed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. I'm a Cook County attorney who was once brought in to a case in Will County because there was some thought that Mike was too friendly. Imagine. I persuaded the client to keep Mike on as local counsel as I knew no one here, and no one here knew me. Mike was completely selfless about the situation and gladly remained on. We became good friends and we continued to work together on other cases. Mike was invariably happy to see me and talk about the work, the quirks in cases, past professors at Loyola's Law school, family, the Cubs, and most unusually for people in this business, anything I was doing that didn't involve him. This business (this world) has lost a gentle giant.

Mike always greeted everyone he dealt with with a friendly smile and always remembered everyone’s name no matter how many years past that he seen them! From clerks to receptionists it didn’t matter he treated everyone the same! God bless him and peace to his loving family

We are so very sad to hear this news. I have known Mike forever ! He lived a few doors down from me as I was growing up ! I remember all the studying he did years ago . As we both got older we lived in the same neighborhood in Channahon, and he has been my one and only attorney over the years !! He was such a great person. Very trustworthy ! He has handled many things for us over the years. He will be greatly missed ! My prayers to his family !!
