Obituary of Alex Michael Wojtak II
Age 66, of Channahon, IL passed peacefully from this life surrounded by family, Friday morning April 22, 2022 at home.
He was born November 4, 1955 at the "old" St. Joseph Hospital in Joliet, the son of Loretta (nee Kropinski) and Alex Michael Wojtak. Mike attended Holy Cross Grade School and graduated from Joliet Catholic High School. He did his undergraduate studies at Lewis University and received his Law Degree from Loyola University.
Mike, a partner with the Tracy, Johnson and Wilson Law Firm in Joliet, has practiced law in the community for many years.
He is the beloved husband of 36 years to Lee (nee Stroud) Wojtak; dearest dad of Tom (Sarah) Yuratick and Jyne (the late Robert) Hayes; proud grandpa of Jesse, Kathryn (Brennan), Becca; Allison, Abigail, Maggie, Gina, Alex, Samantha; Cindy (Nick) and Dana (Jeff); devoted great grandpa of Phoebe; cherished son of Loretta Wojtak; fond brother of Mary (Ron) McAdams, Paula (Rob) Holtzauer, Annie (Ron) LaVazza and Jim (Lisa) Wojtak. Numerous nieces, nephews,and cousins, as well as his canine companions, Aggie and Gabriel also survive.
Preceded in death by his father and son-in-law.
Mike was a member of the Church of St. Jude, the WIll County Bar Association, Channahon-Minooka Rotary and a former board member of Easter Seals. He enjoyed collecting coins and stamps, however his greatest passion was being with family, serving his clients and his community.
He will be remembered fondly for his honesty, integrity and his calm and pleasant demeanor.
Visitation for Mike will be Monday April 25, 2022 from 4-7 pm at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home 3200 Black Rd. (at Essington Rd.) Joliet. Funeral services Tuesday April 26, 2022 9:00 a.m. from the funeral home to the Church of St. Jude 2212 W. McDonough Street in Joliet where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. As it was Mike's wish, cremation rites will be accorded following Mass and his final earthly remains will be interred in Willard Grove Cemetery in Channahon.
In lieu of flowers memorials in his name can be made to St. Judes Building Fund, Channahon-Minooka Rotary or Easter Seals.
