Randy and Tracy Gigl posted a condolence

One day I was sitting by Ray at a baseball game and during our conversation, Ray asked me if I was interested in working with him at Stepan. My response was clear as I am still with the company 27 years later. Though I’ve only seen Ray a handful of times since he retired, when I did, he was always having a good time with family and friends. At the end of the day, we all want to matter in life, and Ray achieved that. May God bless Ray and his family as Ray blessed myself and my family and all those he blessed with his life. We will miss you, Randy and Tracy Gigl.

Ray and all his family are in our thoughts and prayers, he will be truly missed as a great friend and family man. I remember how he kiddingly called my young daughter Fred and how it tickled her so much. The great friendship he and Ted Stallard had. He and I stopping at the Donut Hole for coffee every morning when I worked with him at Stepan. The wonderful time Jeff Hubbard, he and I had bird hunting in Oklahoma. Most of all the truly magical times we all had in Lake of the Ozarks. It was just a big ole family reunion every time. I will always cherish my time with him!

I worked with Ray at Stepan Company for a lot of years.
He was always willing to help to keep the units running 24/7 and didn't complain about working in the cold or the heat since most were outside.
Good guy

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I spent several years living across the street from the Wagnons when our children were young and started school. Ray was there for me thru my first husbands death and was certainly a good friend for many years. I will be remembering all the family in my daily prayers and the rosary. Q

So sad to hear this! The one thing I remember as a kid was how friendly Ray was. Always smiling. I'm sure his family will miss his bright light.
