Lee and I met in dorm room 582 at NIU. We transferred in as juniors and started laughing together for 58 years. Kept friendship up with NIU football games, after work bowling, Rush street adventures, and then family picnics. Married at 30 within months of each other, and each had two children in 3&6 years that were also within weeks of each other. Talk about two guys on the same wave length. I will really miss him.

Pat, Ray, Lisa, and Michael,
I am so sorry for your loss. I have so many warm memories with Lee and your family. Your home was only a block away from mine when I was growing up and all of you were my second family. I spent many nights sleeping over as a kid and many hours after school playing Nintendo with Ray. Your family will always hold a special place in my heart. I have never forgotten about all of you, though many years have past since grade school, junior high, and high school.
I’ll start by saying the memories I will share is how I remember them today, but if I’m not 100% accurate after all these years, please don’t be offended.
Lee was a great cub scout leader and wood worker. I still have the wooden tool box he helped me assemble and stain over thirty-five years ago. It was a simple tool box, but I know he spent much time cutting all the individual pieces for each of us scouts. He must have be very patient with all us kids during the assembly process.
I remember any time I was at your home and the phone rang….he would never answer. I remember he loved to watch the TV. I remember him purchasing and assembling the batting cage in your back yard so it would be more convenient for Ray to practice batting. Lee would be out there feeding balls through the pitching machine helping Ray and giving him pointers. I remember your family going on many trips with the truck and camper because it was important to Lee for your family to travel and see the country. I remember your family always going to the covered bridge festival in Wisconsin each year. I remember Lee loved going to flea markets and bringing home new “treasures” regularly. I remember Lee was regularly out collecting soda cans and helped clean up our town. I remember when he first got his motorcycle I thought he was so cool and macho! I remember he worked at the Rialto theatre regularly. Then there were times that I would come over and Ray was not home, but Lee and I or Lee, Pat,
and I would just hang out and talk. They didn’t send me home, they were very kind and warm people who took an interest in my life. They were my second parents.
The reason why I have shared so much is because I have so many positive memories with Lee and your family. What I do know is that Lee was an amazing man. He was a dedicated father and husband that loved his kids and loved his wife. He was very supportive and encouraged those around him to be the best they could be. I know he will be missed by so many because he touched so many lives while he was with us.
May God grant your family the peace, comfort, and support you deserve through this challenging time.

Jeffrey me laddie, How's life today??? I heard this evryday I saw Lee when I delivered their mail, I know no one treats them the way I did...They were easy to have as customers and friends, and the kids were just as nice...I know Christian is going to miss his Grandpa. He would always help me deliver their mail when he was there...Keep those memories close to your heart, Lee is somewhere, laughing, with his favorite dish, Burgoo! He had the best time at that festival...
