Doug and I grew up together in Joliet near Reedswood and Dirksen schools. We played a lot of sports together in the neighborhood. One funny story is when Doug wanted to have a rock throwing fight with each other. I tried to talk him out of it but he insisted. So we threw rocks at each other playing war games. I picked up a small flat skipping rock and winged it at Doug and it bounced off the top of his head. It made a loud noise and drew some blood and he went down for the count. That was the end of the rock war. After Doug regrouped, we laughed about how dumb it was and went off and had some other good clean fun in the neighborhood. I will always have fond memories of Doug. Good bless you.
Doug was my Sigma Chi pledge son at the University of Illinois. I feel blessed to have known such a energetic, charismatic, and caring person - one I'm truly proud to call Brother. Although my heart aches at the present time, the countless memories will always brighten the past, and I know an amazing reunion awaits in the future.
God Speed Doug. Soar high with the Angel.
Till we meet again,
Greg
