Obituary of Daryl DeLand

Daryl R. DeLand Age 39, of Plainfield, IL, died Wednesday September 21, 2016 at Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn. He was born February 24, 1977 in Chicago, IL to the late Anita (nee Gonzales) and Ronald DeLand, he was raised in Plainfield, attending St. Mary Immaculate Grade School and graduating with the class of 1995 from Plainfield High School. Survived by his brother A. Mitchell DeLand of Plainfield and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Daryl received a bachelor of arts degree from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb. He possessed a creative mind, and as an artist, a genuine and passionate soul. He enjoyed cooking, drawing, painting and helping others. An avid hockey player and fan, he played hockey for the Joliet Jaguars and Plainfield High. He had an appreciation for nice clothes and nice cars and was a fan of the Blackhawks and Cubs. Funeral services will be held Thursday September 29, 2016, 9:45 am from the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery.
